The Labour Party candidate Anthony Chinasa-Abiola, who was elected to the Abia state House of Assembly, has denied claims that he is of Yoruba ancestry.

Because of the “Abiola” in his name, there have been rumors that Chinasa-Abiola, who won the election to represent Umuahia Central Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, is a Yoruba guy.

He has now made it clear that he is not of the Yoruba ethnic group in an interview with TVC.

He claims that he changed his identity to Abiola in order to assist Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s candidate for governor of Lagos.

He noted that the name Abiola is just a “nickname” or “guy name” that he uses.
