FULL LIST: 2023 Oscar Awards Winners As Rihanna And Tem’s ‘Lift Me Up’ lose to Indian

Published

The Dolby Theatre at the Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, hosted the 2023 Oscar Awards on Sunday night.

Hollywood royalty and some of the top names in the worldwide entertainment industry attended the award ceremony.

The sci-fi film “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” directed by Daniel Scheinert and Kwan, received the majority of the major awards, including Best Picture and Directing.

For her song “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Rihanna received an Oscar nomination in the category of “Best Original Song” in 2023.

The Barbadian singer co-wrote the song with Tems, producer Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler.

The artistes wrote the single as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the ‘Black Panther’ actor who died in 2020.

The 35-year-old, however, lost her category to ‘Naatu Naatu’ a song by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, the Bajan superstar.

‘Naatu Naatu’ is an Indian Telugu-language song recorded for the soundtrack album of the 2022 Indian film ‘RRR’.

Tems also stole the show after wearing a lush white gown from Lever Couture with a particularly obstructive headpiece.
