India Police Arrests Nigerian Pharmacy Student For Drug Dealings in India

A Nigerian student was detained by the anti-narcotics unit of Panchkula in the Indian state of Haryana for allegedly providing heroin to drug dealers.

Nwosu Echezoma, also known as Amaica, a 29-year-old Nigerian national, was detained on February 12, 2023, a Sunday.

According to police, the accused, who is a BPharm student at a college in Mullana, Ambala, had 15.56 gm of heroin on him as well.

His arrest followed the confession of Surajpal Singh, alias Robin, 34, a Zirakpur resident who was found in possession of 8.78 grams of heroin on February 9, 2023, close to an Amartex showroom.

Singh was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and taken on two-day police remand. During interrogation, he revealed the source of the drugs, leading to Nwosu?s arrest.

“The Nigerian national used to source drugs from Delhi and supplied them in and around Ambala. A court sent him to two-day police remand. He will be questioned further to unearth his network,? police said.
