Premier League: David De Gea To Win The 2022/23 Premier League Golden Glove

Published

David De Gea, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, has won the Golden GLove trophy for the 2022–2023 Premier League season.

On Saturday, May 13, during United’s 2-0 victory over Wolves, the Spaniard recorded his 16th clean sheet of the year, earning him the distinction for a second time.

Although he isn’t yet an outright winner, his performance in goal for the Red Devils this season has him at the top of the Premier League’s list of clean sheets.

If all three remaining goalkeepers keep three clean sheets, they would tie De Gea for most wins, which is still possible.

Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope, and Alisson Becker are all on 13 clean sheets, with three games remaining. Should De Gea concede in his final three games and one of those three keepers is not beaten in the remaining matches, they will equal De Gea.

It will be the second time that the Spaniard has claimed the award in his career, having previously win the accolade during the 2017-18 campaign.
