Adamawa Pastor Arrested Over Alleged Link With Kidnappers

Published

Ruth Kenneth, a preacher, was detained by officers of the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly participating in a kidnapping ring that terrorized the state’s citizens.

According to information, the 38-year-old traditionalist and prayer warrior runs a miracle center for people in the state looking for solutions to their difficulties.

Kenneth’s luck, however, ran out when police officers assigned to the command’s Anti-Kidnap Unit tracked down and discovered that a kidnapping suspect had been using her phone.

According to reports, the police were pursuing the suspect who had been extorting N10 million from the relatives of a kidnap victim in the state.

Suleiman Nguroje, the state police’s public information officer, claimed that Kenneth had been passing herself off to most of her clients as a traditionalist and a prayer warrior but, unbeknownst to them, she was a part of daredevil criminals that specialized in kidnapping people for ransom.

He said, “The suspect in question is a spiritualist who has been held in prison custody following her arraignment in court. But even now, there is still another allegation, which police investigations in another high profile kidnap case showed that she is equally involved due to conversations which the police tracked and linked to her. The police will apply for her to be brought back to the command to face fresh charges against her as a suspect.”

Nguroje, who urged the public to exercise caution while seeking spiritual guidance, said Kenneth served as a spiritual prayer warrior outside of a religion.

“She operates alone as a traditional medicine giver and a prayer warrior. She operates alone without a church, but if you have a problem, you can come to her for a solution. The police, while trailing members of a kidnap ring, found out she has a link to the group,” Nguroje said.
