BREAKING!!! Chelsea Completes The Signing Of Brazilian Striker Deivid Washington

Published

Chelsea has finalized the acquisition of Deivid Washington from Santos as the young Brazilian striker has joined Chelsea on a long-term commitment, inking a seven-year agreement with a possibility for an eighth.

Following in the footsteps of Angelo Gabriel, 18-year-old sensation Washington is another player from Santos joining Chelsea this season.

On his move, Washington expressed, “Joining a prominent team like Chelsea fills me with joy.

“I’m eagerly awaiting my inaugural match, hoping to contribute significantly with goals and assists.”

The inclusion of Washington underscores Stamford Bridge’s evident strategy of focusing on youthful talent.

Diego Moreira and Lesley Ugochukwu, both 19, have recently joined from Benfica and Rennes. However, they might not see much main squad action shortly.

Other newcomers to Chelsea this summer, all aged 25 or younger, include Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia.

However, manager Mauricio Pochettino hinted that Chelsea’s market dealings might not be over.

He commented, “Our focus is on the right fit. We’re on the hunt.

“While the transfer period is still active, the team is on the move. Updates will be provided as they come.”

Romelu Lukaku remains under contract with Chelsea, yet a transfer hasn’t been confirmed despite discussions with numerous clubs.

Having spent the previous season on loan at Inter Milan, Lukaku doesn’t seem to be in Pochettino’s immediate strategy.

Addressing the status of the Belgian forward, Pochettino noted, “There’s no update on the situation. Anything’s possible in football, the future will tell. As of now, it’s status quo.

“When we started, the intention was mutual between the club and player to seek a resolution. Currently, things are calm on that front.”

Pochettino’s squad has had a sluggish start, gaining only a single point from two games – they secured a 1-1 draw against Liverpool and suffered a 3-1 defeat to West Ham the previous weekend.

Chelsea will face Luton this Friday, a match where they aim to clinch a victory to kickstart their campaign.
