BREAKING!!! World Record Holder, Tobi Amusan, Cleared of Anti-Doping Violations

Published

Tobi Amusan, holder of the Women’s 100m Hurdles World record, has responded to the decision by the disciplinary tribunal which confirmed she did not breach any Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).

In July, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) had provisionally suspended Amusan for missing three tests within a year. Throughout the ordeal, Amusan continually asserted her innocence, emphasizing her commitment as a clean athlete, and awaited the tribunal’s ruling on the issue.

The disciplinary tribunal eventually cleared her on Thursday night, with her suspension being revoked as announced in an AIU press release.

Following this announcement, Tobi Amusan released a statement on the decision as she looks forward to defending her title at the World Championships in Budapest this August.

“This morning, (evening in Nigeria) I found out that the Independent Tribunal that heard my case has ruled that I did not violate the whereabouts rules and as a result, I will not be sanctioned and none of my results will be precluded. I am thrilled to put this behind me, and I look forward to defending my title at the World Championships. I generally have been and consistently will be an ally of clean sport.

“To my five fingers; God is the greatest and genuinely appreciate you all for the support,” Amusan wrote on Instagram.

While this issue might have hampered her preparation for the World Championships mentally, the women’s 100mH World Record (WR) holder and reigning champion will now fully focus on defending her title when she takes to the tracks on Tuesday evening in Budapest.
