Coronavirus: Newlyweds Kiss In Italy Through Masks At Their Wedding [Photos]

Despite the alarming cases of coronavirus and deaths from the disease in Italy, a couple still went ahead to get married.

The newly married couple, Diego Fernandes, 46 and Deni Salgado, 30, held their wedding ceremony on Friday with only a few witnesses since public gatherings have been banned as part of the measures to halt the spread of the coronavirus disease.

In one of the photos, Deigo and Deni were pictured sharing a kiss through protective masks as they celebrated their special day in Naples.

On Thursday, Italy overtook China as the country to register most deaths from the highly contagious virus. The death toll leaped by 627 in a single day taking the total to 4,032.

According to the Civil Protection Agency, the total number of cases in Italy is 47,021. The hardest-hit northern region of Lombardy remains in a critical situation, with 2,549 deaths and 22,264 cases.
