Cross River NLC Boss Regains Freedom After Spending 82 Days In Captivity

The NLC chairman in Cross River state Comrade Ben Ukpepi, Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress has reportedly been freed by his abductors after spending 82 days in captivity. 

Police Spokesperson in the state, Irene Ugbo said he was released on Monday, June 14. It is however unclear if a ransom was paid or not.

Ukpepi was kidnapped for the second time in front of his house at CROSPIL Estate in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State on Sunday, March 21, 2021. This occurred while organized labour in the state were planning a strike.
