Despite flooding, a Delta couple conducts their traditional wedding rituals

Asiayei Enaibo and Emily Ekanpou, a Delta couple, overcame the water that is currently destroying the Akparemogbene community and carried out their customary wedding customs.

On November 3, 2022, the traditional wedding ceremony took place in Ayakoromo, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta state.

The ceremony was held on a platform built in the center of the flooded community, and the couple and their guests arrived by boat.
