Former President Muhammadu Buhari has broken his silence on the triumph of President Tinubu in the Presidential Election Petition Court.

The former president extended his heartfelt congratulations to Tinubu for his triumph in an official statement signed by his media aide, Garba Shehu.

On Wednesday, September 6, the court made the significant decision to uphold President Tinubu’s election victory, dismissing the petitions lodged by the Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Buhari expressed his elation at the court’s ruling. He commended the Presidential Election Petition Court for demonstrating unwavering commitment to justice, upholding the rule of law, and respecting the will of the majority of citizens who fervently wished for their chosen leader to be recognized.

Buhari underscored the significance of this moment, asserting, “If anybody has won today, it is democracy and the people.” With the Supreme Court’s verdict, he emphasized that the election phase has concluded, and it is now time to move forward and leave behind the turbulence and controversies of the past.

The former President also offered valuable advice to the new APC administration led by President Tinubu, urging them to seek the support and collaboration of all citizens to fulfill the promises made to the people. In his message, Buhari reiterated his gratitude to all citizens for maintaining peace and stability throughout this electoral period.
