Heart-Wrenching Video Reveals The State Of Inmates In Nigerian Prisons

A video that surfaced recently has stirred deep sympathy and outrage as it exposed the inhumane conditions of Nigerian inmates awaiting trial in the country’s prisons.

The distressing footage captured a scene of extreme overcrowding, where inmates were forced to sleep packed together on the floor, all leaning to one side, their bodies tightly squeezed in an effort to accommodate the overcrowded cell.

The video was shared by a concerned user on social media, who expressed dismay at the deplorable conditions in Nigerian prisons.

The user wrote; “The state of Nigerian prisons. This is inhumane, we clearly don’t value human life“

Another user pointed out that the prison in question was likely a facility housing awaiting trial inmates;

“This is not the main prison, this is where they keep awaiting trial inmates, and the most heartbreaking thing about this video is that you may not commit a crime and be subjected to this situation if you are granted bail in court and cannot meet the bail term immediately.“
