Manchester United Set To Complete Signing of Fenerbache’s Shot Stopper Altay Bayindir
Fenerbahce’s goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir, has undergone medical examinations in anticipation of a potential transfer to Manchester United this transfer window.
Despite recently acquiring Andre Onana from Inter for £47.2m, Manchester United is on the lookout for a reliable backup goalie.
Following the departure of David de Gea from Old Trafford on a free transfer earlier this season, Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton are the current reserve options behind Onana.
Though Bayindir was earlier linked with a move to Crystal Palace and had ties to Nottingham Forest, Manchester United appears to be leading the chase.
As per reports from The Athletic, the club has conducted a preliminary medical check on Bayindir in Greece, setting the stage for a potential €5 million transfer deal.
Since joining Fenerbahce in 2019, Bayindir has played 145 times for the club and has been capped five times by the Turkish national team.
