Plateau Genocide: Over 150 Killed Within 3 Weeks – Gov. Caled Mutfwang

Published

Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau state, has denounced the recent wave of assaults and killings in the state that have claimed at least 150 lives as “pure genocide.”

“In Plateau State, I can tell you that 80% of the situation is pure genocide against Plateau people,” Mr. Mutfwang remarked, lamenting the recent wave of deaths in the state.

This was revealed by Mr. Mutfwang in an interview with Channels TV on Friday night after his Friday visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Villa.

“Last night, four people were killed in Mangu Local Government. Conservatively, I will put it that in the last three weeks, we have buried not less than 150 people in Mangu Local Government Area alone,” Mr Mutfwang said.

The governor said Mr Tinubu had assured him that the country’s security architecture would be rejigged to tackle insecurity across the country.

Peoples Gazette had reported that 80 persons were killed in different attacks across the country in Mr Tinubu’s first week in office.

The Gazette also reported how Mr Tinubu made no statement commiserating with the families of the dead as he did to the Indian train victims of June 2.
