Robbers invade Nasarawa school, kill teacher and injure one other

Unknown gunmen have killed a worker at the Government Science Secondary School in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Auta Nasela, was killed by the gunmen who invaded the school premises at about 8.30pm on Saturday, August 13. According to witnesses, the gunmen demanded money from the deceased who decided to run to his neighbour’s house. It was while he was there that he was shot dead.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said;

“A distress call was received from GSS Nasarawa Eggon that some unidentified hoodlums invaded the residence of one Auta Nasela.

When they gained entrance, they started demanding money, but the man escaped to his neighbour’s house.

Unfortunately, one of the hoodlums followed him and shot him. He was rushed to the General Hospital at Nasarawa Eggon by the police but he later died while receiving treatment.

Based on available information, only the late Mr Auta was attacked and killed, not two teachers as members of the public have been saying.”

He added that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
