So-Safe Corps Arrests Notorious Cultist In Ogun

A suspected cultist who has been terrorizing Ogun State citizens has been captured by the So-Safe Corps.

On behalf of the Corps Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, the So-Safe Corps spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf, revealed this in a statement on March 30, 2023.

The suspect was detained, per the statement, after the agency’s special team reacted to a distress call regarding potential attacks from the men residing in a 20-room abandoned, flooded building at Oke-Ijeun Tuntun in Abeokuta.

Ganzallo noted that the team was able to apprehend the kingpin, Mr Akeem Yekinni, a 48-year-old man, who resides at the said building at Nawar-ud-Deen, Ijeun Tuntun.

He said that the suspect refused to disclose the rest members of his team and their mode of operation.

Ganzallo further revealed that after a thorough search of the room where the suspect resides, a double-barrel locally made pistol and a live cartridge was found wrapped with a cloth and kept in a travelling bag.

The suspected cultist and the exhibits have been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Anti Cultism Unit, Oke-Ijemo, for onward transfer to the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran for further investigation and likely prosecution.
