Spanish authorities have reported 6,600 new coronavirus cases with the country’s death jumping to 2,696 after 514 patients died in 24 hours.

With the new cases, Spain now has a total number of 39,673 people infected with the disease and 2,696 deaths, according to Spain’s health ministry.

Spain is the worst affected country in Europe after Italy, which has recorded more than 6,000 deaths so far.

Globally, there are more than 380,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 17, 226 deaths.
