Time To Clear The Dead Woods: Mourinho Puts Eight Roma Players Up For Sale

Published

Roma new coach Jose Mourinho began his first training session with his new club on Thursday, but he has already identified some players that he wants the club to move on.

The Portuguese coach had his presentation prior to taking charge of training on Thursday, and it seems that he wants to make swift changes with the Giallorossi.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Mourinho want to sell eight Roma players who are not part in his plans: Pedro Rodriguez, Federico Fazio, Steven Nzonzi, Justin Kluivert, Javier Pastore, Davide Santon, Robin Olsen and Ante Coric.

Roma recently posted their pre-season squad on social media and none of the aforementioned players appeared on the list.

Pedro only joined last summer but struggled for game time last term, while former Sevilla duo Fazio and Nzonzi have not been the same since they left LaLiga Santander.

The remaining five players have failed to live up to their potential, includingPatrick Kluivert’s son, Justin.

Two players that have already been moved on are Spanish goalkeeper Pau Lopez and Turkish winger Cengiz Under, who have been loaned out to Marseille with an option to buy.

Mourinho wants to take Roma to the pinnacle of Serie A and is therefore looking to bring in players, such as Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
