TRAGIC: As Two Policemen Drown In Oda River While Chasing Armed Robbers

A shocking news reaching out has it that two police officers from the Obuasi Police Command have reportedly drowned in a river at Kobro village near Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

The two identified as Lance Corporal Stephen Kyeremeh and  Amedius Akwesi Boateng, together with two other colleagues also called Sergeant Isaac Nyamekye and James Ahiman were on patrol after they had information that some armed robbers have attacked some small scale miners and taken off to Kobro.

The officers then hired a canoe to enable them to cross the Oda river to the site where the attack was reported to have taken place but the robbers fled upon seeing the officers.

Upon their return, the canoe capsized and the two sergeants managed to swim ashore but unfortunately, the other two officers drowned along with their service rifles.

Detective Inspector Inkoom said that they are yet to trace the whereabouts of the missing officers.
