Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Accord Assembly Candidate In Rivers State
Chukwudi Ogbonna, a member of the Accord Party, was abducted by assailants while running for the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Constituency 2 seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly on March 18.
Ogbonna was reportedly abducted on Monday night at Rumuigbo, close to Port Harcourt, while he was driving his car.
He was apparently stopped by the shooters, who then took off in his car. Ifeaka Nwakiri, his cousin, who corroborated the kidnapping, said:
“They took him with his Mercedes car. We have reported the matter at the Kala Police station.”
