Published

On Monday, November 14, gunmen broke into the Obudi Agwa village in Imo State’s Oguta Local Government Area.

Five people were killed in the attack, including Ignitus Asor, the community’s longtime leader.

While a local issue was being debated in the king’s palace, armed teenagers invaded the building and started shooting randomly.

The community’s traditional leader, two palace chiefs, and two other people perished right there and then.

Several other people, including Chief Stephen Ajoku, the traditional prime minister, were hurt.

The thugs also barged into the nearby Mgbala hamlet where they shot a pregnant woman and a local security guard.

After the incident, the thugs escaped on their cars and motorcycles.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, confirmed the occurrence and said that the police are already on the trail of the thugs with the information they have.

Yes, it’s true, but the police are already looking into it, we already have some leads, and we are pursuing them, Abattam stated.
