How Mohbad Met His Wife At Naira Marley’s Marlian Music Label

Published

Joseph Aloba, the father of Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has shared the story of how the late singer and his wife, Wunmi, first met while both were associated with Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label.

In an interview with the PUNCH, Mr. Aloba described Mohbad as a humble and straightforward individual.

He revealed that Mohbad and his wife, Omowunmi Aloba, had crossed paths during their earlier days in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos, but it wasn’t until they reconnected at Naira Marley’s label gathering that their romantic journey truly began.

Prior to their reunion at the label, there had been no romantic involvement between them. Mr. Aloba even highlighted a lyric from one of Mohbad’s songs that seemed to allude to their story: “Naira lo gbe omo fun mi, I’m not a womanizer.

This lyric hints at how Mohbad and Wunmi’s paths crossed again when he joined Marlian Records. “He (Mohbad) met the lady (Wunmi) there (at Marlian Music), but they had known each other from Oke-Iletu, even though the lady was a student then,” Aloba shared with the reporter.
