Lauryn Hill Emerges The First Female Rapper In History To Sell 10 Million Copies Of An Album

Usa rapper Lauryn Hill has become the first female rapper to sell ten million copies of an album with her 1998 debut solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. 

Twenty years after its release, the album has now been certified, Diamond. 

The project was released in 1998, and it’s still considered revered in the Hip Hop community.

Lauryn Hill won countless awards thanks to her first solo project, and it became one of the best-selling albums of all time. She won five Grammys, including awards in the Best New Artist, Best R&B Song, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and Best R&B Album categories. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill also won a Grammy for Album of the Year, making it the first hip hop album to ever receive that award.

Hill is regarded as one of the greatest female artists of all time, and a pioneer in Neo-soul, who broke barriers for female rappers and popularized the now trendy melodic rap.
