On April 21, Julian Nagelsmann unexpectedly withdrew from consideration for the position of Chelsea manager. The agent has finally disclosed his choice.
Volker Struth, the agent for Nagelsman, said on the BILD Podcast that questions had been raised over Chelsea’s expectations and transfer strategy, and that the player’s withdrawal was a wise decision.
“I can confirm that Chelsea were quick to call [after his dismissal at Bayern Munich). There were some phone conversations. It was the right decision not to go there.”
[Chelsea’s] a club in troubled waters at the moment. And their transfer policy, spending a few hundred million euros, has raised expectations that need to be met” Volker revealed.
Chelsea have moved on from Nagelsman, last week the club agreed a deal with Mauricio Pochettino to become the new head coach.
Club sources insist Julian Nagelsmann was never the first choice.
Pochettino will be In charge of Pre-season but is not expected at any of Chelsea’s last games before the season runs out.
