Adeleye is competing for the honor alongside Omri Glazer of Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Daniel Peretz of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Yoav Gerafi of FC Ashdod, John Cohen of Maccabi Haifa, and Itamar Nitzan of Maccabi Netanya.

The Hapoel Jerusalem goalkeeper has made 29 appearances for the team this season and has maintained 10 clean sheets while allowing 33 goals.

Since joining Hapoel Jerusalem in 2019, Adeleye has made 120 appearances, allowed 114 goals, and kept 51 clean sheets in all competitions.

The 23-year-old, who recently penned a new three-year contract extension with the Israeli side, says he feels very settled at the club and  is pleased that the club wants him to be part of their long-term project.

“I feel very settled here and have really enjoyed my time on the pitch here,”he told The PUNCH.

“I’m very happy that an agreement was reached for me to sign this extension to my contract,” Adeleye said.

“I’m also glad that the club wants me to be part of the project long-term, and am very happy.

“We are working hard for success and I will do my best to bring more smiles to the faces of the fans who have made me feel so welcome since I arrived.”

Hapoel Jerusalem are currently bottom of the Championship playoffs log after recording three wins and six defeats. On Saturday, they battle reigning champions Maccabi Haifa, who have successfully defended their league title with a game to spare.
