President Spent So Much Money To Make Sure I Lost Senatorial Election – Governor Ortom

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom claims to know the amount President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration spent to ensure that Ortom failed his candidacy for the Senate in the general elections of 2023.

When analyzing the current state of the Nigerian security situation in an interview, Ortom made this disclosure.

“I will tell you the truth about the celebration of my defeat which was orchestrated by the Villa. It was unfortunate. Money was spent, and every day people talk about corruption. Corruption is from the Villa itself.”

“I know how much was given to Benue State to ensure that I lost the election. God has permitted it, and I have accepted to move on,” the governor said, accrding to Daily Independent.”

Recall that Samuel Ortom lost election for the Benue North-west Senatorial seat to his former aide, Titus Zam, of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

“Declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Rufus Shaa’ato, said Mr Zam polled 143,151votes to beat Mr Ortom of the People Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 106,882 votes, while Mark Gbillah of the Labour Party (LP) polled 51,950 votes.”

“Shaa’ato stated that Zam was declared the winner having satisfied the requirements of the Electoral Law.”

“Governor Ortom also lambasted the Buhari Government for the incessant killings of Nigerians by the non-state actors.”

“The governor also declared his readiness to support the incoming presidency of Bola Tinubu and said his next goal was to focus on his business and professional career.”
