Sit-At-Home: Victim Wants Govt Intervention And Justice

Published

As his condition worsens, Mr. Henry Oko, one of the victims of the attack on December 14 at Nwakpu market in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State by enforcers of the Simon Ekpa-issued sit-at-home order, self-proclaimed discipline of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has pleaded for justice and government intervention.

When some masked gunmen entered the market, shooting randomly and burning vehicles on fire while claiming to be executing the five-day sit-at-home edict, the victim was there.

They lit his car on fire, gave him fatal axe blows to the head and shoulder, then shot him twice in the thighs, just below the manhood.

He was abandoned by the criminals in a pool of his own blood, and later, when the Army and Police attacked the scene, he was saved.

Mr. Oko, who was taken by the police in an ambulance to the hospital, has begged security organizations to help identify and apprehend his assailants.

Additionally, he pleaded with the Ebonyi State Government to act quickly to save his life because reports indicate that he is in danger of dying from the fatal axe and bullet wounds that the thugs inflicted on him.

According to the victim who spoke with Vanguard, he was spared instant death by divine intervention since one of the assailants had given the order to have him “wasted.”
