Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes Highest-Ever Goalscorer In Football History

Published

After his late strike against Sassuolo on Sunday, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo became the joint-highest goal scorer in football history.

Ronaldo drilled home in order to send a 3-1 victory to the Italian champions.

For club and country, it brings his career total to a stunning 759.

That meant that the captain of Portugal joined Josef Bican at the top of all-time scoring records in the game.

There is no question now that Bican will be overtaken by Ronaldo as the most prolific marksman of the game.

Although Pele’s Instagram bio proclaims him as ‘Top Goal Scorer of All Time (1,283),’ there is still controversy about whether all the strikes of the Brazilian hero were in official matches.

In the 1930s, 40s and early 50s, representing Austria and Czechoslovakia at international level, Bican played for clubs like Rapid Vienna, Slavia Prague and Dynamo Prague.
