Kano government Shut Down Schools Over Coronavirus

The Kano State Government has ordered the closure of schools in the state as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus.

The state’s Commissioner of Education, Muhammadu Sanusi Kiru made the announcement in a press conference in Kano on Thursday, March 19.

Kiru advised parents of students in boarding schools to pick their wards from Sunday 22nd of March as the indefinite vacation will become effective from Monday, March 23, 2020.

He said;

‘’The closure is not intended to create panic but a preventive measure in the face of threat posed by the disease across the globe.”

The commissioner advised parents to encourage their children to remain at home and observe high standards of personal hygiene.
