The APC National Women’s wing led by the dynamic National Women Leader, Dr Betta Edu in collaboration with the Honourable Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Hon Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, visited the Refugees camp at Tsunami, Unguwar Danbaba in Gusau, Zamfara States.

The women were given financial empowerment to set up petty businesses to sustain them and their families. The internally displaced persons thanked the team for the humanitarian work done to support their resettlement. They hailed the new school built for them in the camp as well as the health facilities. They also praised the Government of President Buhari for the extra effort on humanitarian interventions in the country.

The excited Persons of Concern promised to get their PVCs and vote for the APC while calling on Government to do more to resettle and secure them.

Dr. Betta also visited Zamfara State Internally Displaced Person’s Camp (IDP Camp) on the third (3) day of her empowerment program where over 5000 persons received free medical attention, supply of food stuff, cash gifts and clothing.

She demonstrated love to the IDPs despite the limited resources, noting that internally displaced persons should feel and have a sense of belonging in the society while appealing to them to participate in the ongoing voters registration by getting their PVCs.

The IDPs noted that the gesture was first of its kind from any National Women Leader in the history of Nigeria politics even across parties.
