Nigeria Troops Raid Terrorists Hideouts And Neutralized Six In Kaduna

Six terrorists were killed in Kaduna State during a raid on their hideouts in the Giwa region of the state by members of Operation Forest Sanity and the Defence Headquarters Special Forces.

During the raid, the terrorists’ ammo was also recovered in large quantities.

The terrorists were reportedly killed in a gun battle that broke out during the operation on Friday, according to a statement made on Saturday by the director of defense media operations, Musa Danmadami.

In a covert operation on June 9, 2023, Operation Forest Sanity troops and the Defense Headquarters Special Forces made contact with terrorists at Maidaro village in Kaduna State’s Giwa Local Government Area.

“In an ensued fire fight, troops neutralised six terrorists and recovered five AK 47 rifles, 192 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm Special ammunition, 74 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm Special, nine AK 47 rifle magazines, three IEDs, three Baofeng radios, one PKM, three motorcycles, amongst other sundry items.”

He urged the citizens to give troops timely information on the activities of terrorists in their environment.

“The military high command commends troops of Operation Forest Sanity and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on terrorists and all criminal activities within their area,” the statement added.

The PUNCH reports that troops of Operation Forest Sanity ambushed and killed two bandit leaders terrorising Kaduna, including the notorious Isiya Danwasa, in April 2023.
