Reactions As Burna Boy Snubs The Only Nigeria Reporter At Met Gala

Published

Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has come under fire for allegedly shunning the Met Gala’s ‘sole Nigerian correspondent’ lately.

Recall that on Monday, May 1, at the glitzy fashion show held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the self-styled “Odogwu” made his public debut.

After the Gala, a journalist named Kachi from Arise TV news accused him of snubbing her, which she perceived as an insult to Nigerians in general as well as to herself.

A video of the moment Burna Boy allegedly ignored her has been shared on social media, and it seemingly tells a different story.

In the video, the “Last Last’ crooner can be seen climbing the stairs in his bespoke Burberry outfit when Kachi started calling “Odogwu” to catch his attention.

He advanced to the media booth and granted a brief interview to another journalist. Despite Kachi’s repeated requests for an interview, Burna Boy left the scene, but looked back and politely told her that he needed to leave.

This didn’t sit well with Kachi who criticized the singer for ‘ignoring’ her. She said she was livid and almost broke down in tears right there at the media stand because she felt embarrassed for calling Burna Boy “Odogwu, and still getting snubbed.
